Ibn Rajab and the last ten days of Ramadan

In his fourth session on Ramadan in Lata'if al-Ma'arif, Ibn Rajab covers the things that the Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace) would focus on during the last ten days of Ramadan so we can, in sha Allah, follow his example. The summary is this is that he  would

   1. spend all or most of the night in worship
   2. wake his wives (may Allah bless him and them and give him peace) during the night so they could pray – something he did not do the other nights of Ramadan
   3. avoid intimate relations with his wives (may Allah bless him and them and give him peace)
   4. maintain his fast until close to the pre-fast meal, especially on nights when one expects Laylat al-Qadar
   5. bathe between Sunset and Night Prayer, and wearing his best clothes and scents
   6. maintain a Spiritual retreat (i'tikaf)
